Where the numbers come from
Per-hour figures are the ones each service publishes: Spotify at normal quality (about 43 MB an hour), Netflix on its automatic mobile setting (about 0.25 GB an hour), YouTube at 720p (up to 1.1 GB an hour) and Zoom one-to-one calls (about 0.54 GB an hour for video, about 32 MB for audio). Nobody publishes a figure for maps, chat or feeds, so those use our planning averages: 0.35 GB a day as a base and 0.45 GB a day for daily scrolling.
