'Asia' is the loosest label in travel eSIMs. One provider means a handful of East and Southeast Asian countries, another stretches to India or the Gulf. Mainland China is frequently handled apart from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and smaller markets such as Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal or Sri Lanka come and go from lists. A regional plan suits a multi-stop route, for example Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia, or Japan and South Korea. For one country, a single-country plan is the usual fit.

  • Check mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan as four separate lines in the country list. Plans often include some and not others.
  • Rules differ sharply by country: internet filtering in China, IMEI registration in Indonesia, local shutdowns in India. Read the page for each stop.
  • Overland borders in Southeast Asia are often remote. Expect a gap in signal around the crossing even with a plan that covers both sides.

Where the plans differ

Countries that some of the main plans cover and others leave out. If one of your stops is here, the choice of provider matters.

Frequently asked questions

Do all Asia eSIM plans cover the same countries?

No. Among the 9 products we track, the lists go from 14 to 26 countries. The table on this page shows each one.

What is the cheapest regional eSIM for Asia?

On October 5, 2026, the cheapest was Ubigi Asia: 0.5 GB, 1 day at $2.00, covering 26 countries.

Does an Asia eSIM include China?

Sometimes, and often with conditions. Look for mainland China by name, and ask how data is routed, because that decides whether services blocked in China will load.

Is India part of Asia regional plans?

Frequently not. Many Asia plans focus on East and Southeast Asia. If India, Nepal or Sri Lanka is on your route, filter by those countries specifically.
