Kenya and Tanzania are the classic safari pair: the Maasai Mara and Amboseli on one side, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro on the other, with the road between Nairobi and Arusha crossing at Namanga. Both countries are in the East African Community's One Network Area, which lowers roaming costs for East African subscribers and does nothing for a travel eSIM. Tanzania also has the heavier record of internet restrictions, including a nationwide shutdown in October 2025.
